I wasn't kidding when I said I bought fabric for the second round of this dress when I finished the
first one. This one is two sizes smaller and fits better in the torso but is still loose on the arms. The dress details are a little lost in the print but I like the fit on this one better than the first. Instead of steam-a-seam on the hem, I did a narrow hem which made it a little lettuce-y. It's flouncy, fun, and girly. I turned the sleeve hems in and stitched in the ditch rather than doing steam-a-seam or a double needle hem, and it seems to be working quite well.

The ruched seams on the front make the print even louder than it already is. |

Cute dress and wonderful fabric!

ReplyDeleteI'm always so conservative when I purchase fabrics, but I think I need to step outside the comfort zone because this dress is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like it fits really well, and in the print no one will know it's the same dress. I love the fabric. Totally off topic, but what are the pink stripes on your leg or is my computer going funny??
ReplyDeleteThank you, Allison! I like the look of the fabric too.
DeleteAs for the pink stripes, your computer isn't going crazy. It's kinesio tape for a muscle in my shin.
Nice! It looks like a completely different dress with a great fit.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very DVF! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love that print! It makes an awesome dress.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome on you! I like it better than the white version.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review on this pattern. Yesterday I altered the pattern to make this dress for my daughter.
