Distracted with scissors.

Can you see what's wrong with this picture?  I didn't realize it until I had almost finished the sleeves...

All cut upside down!

This was going to be Lee's Christmas present.  After the Celtics shirt last year, he requested a Steelers flannel shirt.  I scoured the internet for fabric.  It turns out that you can get Steelers broadcloth, but Steelers flannel is rare.  And then... well, I guess you can see what happened!  For maybe a split second, I considered finishing this project but it's a little too time intensive for a joke gift.

  1. I am so sorry! Stinks! If it makes you feel better, I just made a dress with the fabric on the wrong side!

  2. Oh my goodness, I want to cry for you but that won't help at all. I made a top, right side to wrong side for the back and front. This happens to all of us at least once. Can you reorder and make later?

  3. oh NO!! There's usually a fix for most things but this... oh dear.

Maybe you could use some of the fabric from the back of the shirt to create something for him to open under the tree (like one of those microwave rice-filled heat packs, or a pair of boxers or something), with a note inside saying "IOU one Stillers shirt"?

  4. Isn't that just the worst feeling?! And to special-order Steelers fabric, no less!

  5. I did the same thing a few years ago. I was making dresses for my girls. It had some birds on it, so I double checked to be sure I was laying it out just right and that I had them going the right way. I don't have any idea how it happened because I was very aware of the directional pattern and specifically laid out the fabric for it. My girls just wear the dresses with the birds upside down. The print on these pajamas, however just doesn't work like that. Bummer!

  6. Don't think anything of it - it'll be right side up for the wearer! Pretend you did it on purpose for that reason..
